The Sullivan Players

The Sullivan Players

D. J. Sullivan founded the Sullivan Players in order to give opportunities for lesser-known professional actors and to produce great plays that have not been widely seen by San Diego audiences. The first production featured one-act plays by Christopher Durang, Tennessee Williams, David Ives and Jane Martin. The company performs at Swedenborg Hall in the University Heights neighborhood of San Diego. An intimate venue with a small stage, minimal lighting and seats, audiences may see actors and the craft of acting up close and personally. The Sullivan Players rely on a stable of professional actors who are past, current or returning students of the D. J. Sullivan Workshop. Past students include Christian Hoff, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Darren Scott among many others. The Sullivan Players is an excellent place to see great, seldom-seen masterworks performed diligently by excellent actors.
